to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited to 31.12.2027.

In this position, you will work on the KISSKI project, one of four German AI service centres funded by the BMFTR. KISSKI primarily offers services in the fields of medicine, energy management and AI, serving the target groups of research, industry, SMEs and public authorities. KISSKI is operated by a consortium of universities in Lower Saxony (UGOE, UMG, CIDAS, aQua, Frauenhofer IEE, LUH, L3S, MHH, HAWK). While the University of Göttingen is responsible for project management, the advertised position will work closely with the HAWK team.

Various AI services have been developed as part of KISSKI, e.g. ‘Chat AI’, which currently has over 700,000 users. The usability of the services is not only a decisive factor in user satisfaction, but also influences the recruitment of new users. The advertised position will therefore develop new concepts for user interfaces, monitor them to identify potential for improvement, and conduct research in the field of UI/design. Close cooperation with the development team and excellent communication skills are required.

At KISSKI, you can expect an exciting job at the interface of design, research and IT innovation. You will have the opportunity to actively shape the design and communication of forward-looking projects in the field of generative AI.

Your responsibilities

  • Conducting research-based and practical analysis and optimisation of our offerings in the area of user experience and user interface design
  • Communicating and justifying UX design decisions to developers and implementing designs to increase acceptance among end users
  • Documenting best practices for the use of generative AI services and creating user-friendly guidelines
  • Designing and optimising communication and PR materials for the project
  • Further developing communication between all stakeholders and target groups

Your profile

  • Completed masters degree in UX/UI design, communication design, interaction design, media design or comparable qualification
  • Practical experience in the conception and implementation of user-centred interfaces
  • Creativity and flair for visual design, typography and digital communication strategies
  • Confident use of common design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Ability to work in a team, structured approach to work and willingness to contribute to a dynamic research environment
  • Interest and initial experience in working with generative AI, as well as motivation to actively incorporate it into design and communication processes
