We offer a research associate (postdoc) position in the context of a collaborative research project with the European Investment Bank (EIB) group, supported by the STAREBEI program.
The successful candidate will join the SVV research group, headed by Prof. Domenico Bianculli.
The group focuses on the development and design of reliable, safe, and secure software systems, including:
Upstream activities: requirements quality assurance, regulatory compliance
Downstream activities: software testing, runtime verification
The position holder will work with Prof. Domenico Bianculli, Dr. Sallam Abualhaija, and co-tutors from the EIB group.
Responsibilities include:
Carrying out research in predefined areas
Implementing prototype tools
Managing and contributing to national and international research projects
Preparing project deliverables
Disseminating results through scientific publications
Presenting results at international conferences and workshops
Providing guidance to PhD, MSc, and BSc students
Organizing workshops and demonstrations
Participating in proposal drafting for industrial, national, and European projects

Qualifications:
PhD degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or Software Engineering obtained within the last 36 months
Experience:
Expertise (with publication track record) in:
Requirements Engineering
Natural Language Processing and Understanding
Text Mining and Information Extraction
Machine Learning
Document Intelligence
Background in any of the following:
Financial Technologies
Regulatory Technologies
Model-driven Engineering
Proficiency in Python
Experience with Microsoft’s AI and Power Platforms (a plus)
Experience with information extraction from financial contracts or legal documents (significant advantage)
Language Skills:
Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
Multilingual and international environment with staff from 90 countries
